Can an orchid be left outside?
If you are wondering whether orchids can be left outside, the answer is yes and no. The orchids of Kolibri Company are Phalaenopsis orchids and cannot be left outside. Would you like to decorate a nice festive table with Phalaenopsis orchids in the summer? Then they could be placed on this, but make sure that it is not too hot and that the orchids are not in the blazing sun.
On the other hand, there are orchids that are allowed outside, so these are also called garden orchids. These orchids can withstand cold weather conditions. As soon as the sun shows its first rays in spring, the shoots of the winter-hardy garden orchid will emerge from the ground.

What types of garden orchids are there?
The orchid family has more than 31.000 species, making it one of the largest plant families. Garden orchids therefore include many species. A few well-known ones are:
