Acquaintance Kolibri Company
“I started as a student Kolibri Company in different departments, such as the stick department and the packing department. The horticultural sector is not unknown to me and I was introduced to this sector through my family. For example, after high school I started studying Horticulture and Agribusiness, where I gained a lot of knowledge about the cultivation of orchids. After completing my studies, a new position was accepted Kolibri Company presented to me."
'Every day I am involved in tasks related to the assortment Kolibri Orchids. Before adding new varieties to our range, I visit suppliers to choose new varieties. I do this alone or together with the sales team to choose contemporary flower colors and patterns. After a new variety has been chosen, I examine the quality, the number of stems and the shelf life. Did you know that it can take up to five years for a new variety to be added to our range? ''
''In addition to putting together our range, planning is an important task. This means that all orchids are purchased on time and I take the color package into account. This is important because we want to have certain colors of orchids available for the holidays. For example, we want orchids with pink flower colors for Mother's Day and more orchids with yellow colors for Easter."
A Kolibri day for Sabine
“My alarm goes off early and I work on different tasks every day. For example, one day I can visit a supplier to see new Phalaenopsis varieties or walk around our own nursery to see how our new varieties are growing. Keeping track of my e-mail is also important to verify that orchids have been ordered at each location Kolibri arrive. We have several locations, so we pay close attention to whether too many or too few orchids have been delivered.
If you ask me what my favorite orchid is? Then I can't answer this. All orchids are beautiful! It is important to me that every orchid has a good quality and shelf life.
The Orchid Inspiration Days will take place in June, during which the entire range will be presented. This event is an important moment where I show newcomers to the range to business customers and gauge their reactions. ''
My job is constantly evolving. Recently I have been involved in the space planning of our location, so that the space in the nursery is used optimally. This way there are not too many or too few orchids. ''
The best thing about working for Kolibri
''I enjoy working with all the new varieties and making choices. As a result, I determine which varieties are added to our range and I am the first to have the scoop. The diversity of this function is very nice and because of this I have contact with every one Kolibri colleague.
In short, I am busy putting together our Phalaenopsis range on a daily basis and make sure that the most beautiful orchids are offered to our customers, with the best quality!''
